Summer jobs with Google Summer of Code

We are glad to inform that Helsinki Institute for Information Techonology has been accepted as a mentoring organization for Google Summer of Code 2011 (GSoC). For those who are not aware of GSoC; GSoC is a global program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source software projects.

As a mentoring organization HIIT suggests 10 projects for students. You can find more information about these projects from our ideas page:

http://wiki.hiit.fi/display/gsoc2011/GSOC+2011+Idea+page

If you are interested in any of these projects, please contact the mentors. All the required details are given in our ideas page.

This is a great opportunity for students to get themselves exposed to real-world software development scenarios and gain recognition in the open-source community. You will also receive a salary of $5.000 and certificate from Google at the end of the program in recognition of your contribution to GSoC.
